Palin's daughters troubles, and other things that have absolutely nothing to do with the election

Sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant out of wedlock, a circumstance that somehow reflects badly on John McCain. We now go to one of our favorite liberal bloggers, Jake at Page One, Kentucky for the details:

Okay. Who really believes John McCain knew the girl was preggers? He’s already admitted he’d only met Palin like once before selecting her to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

This is a big, hot mess. Not because the girl is pregnant– it’s nothing new, everybody does it these days, get over it. But because John McCain honestly thought this wouldn’t hurt his candidacy.

And the evidence for the fact that McCain didn't already know about this? Here is Jake again:

... Uh, wait. Sorry, we can't find any evidence on Jake's blog about this. Okay, well, how about how this will hurt McCain. Here he is again:

... Well, I guess he doesn't explain that either.

So maybe Jake or some other liberal blogger who is now dragging this poor girl's name through the mud when she has enough problems already could explain how McCain is responsible for Palin's daughter's pregnancy.

We can't wait to hear Jake's theory.

Oh, and here is Obama on the story:

“Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be,” Mr. Obama snapped, his voice raised. “And if I ever thought there was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they’d be fired, O.K.?”

Mr. Obama said the pregnancy “has no relevance to Governor Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president.” He added that, “my mother had me when she was 18. How a family deals with issues and teen-age children – that shouldn’t be the topic of our politics.”

“So,” he added, “I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories.”

I don't know if Obama can speak for all his people on this, but I do think he truly doesn't think it should be a part of the campaign discourse. I don't agree with his positions, but he's a decent human being.

It has no relevance EXCEPT she is out stumping for "traditional family values" (haha) and last I checked that isn't in line with that. If you're going to preach it, then you better teach it in your own home first!

Anonymous,

As far as I know, it wasn't Palin who got pregnant out of wedlock, it was her daughter. What exactly did Palin not do that she should have done?

How about raising her daughter with a sense of right and wrong, Marty??? Something about not having sex before marriage is probably in your rule book isn't it??? Should have been in the Palin's book too.
Geeze, what a piece of work you are.

So the mere fact that someone gives into a temptation is evidence that they don't have a sense of right and wrong? Or are you close enough the family to know that she wasn't raised the right way?
